Empowering Voices: Workshop on Non-Communicable Diseases in Nepal
On 29th October 2023, the Nepal Cancer Survivors Society had the privilege of participating in a transformative workshop themed "Nothing for Us Without Us", focusing on the meaningful engagement of people living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Nepal. The workshop was thoughtfully organized by the Nepal NCD Alliance with support from KIOCH, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Nepal Cancer Survivors Society.
This insightful event provided a powerful platform for individuals affected by NCDs to voice their challenges and actively contribute to shaping healthcare policies and strategies. The discussions highlighted the importance of involving those directly impacted in healthcare decisions, fostering a patient-centric and inclusive approach.
The collaborative atmosphere encouraged shared learning and demonstrated the commitment of organizations like WHO, KIOCH, and the Nepal Cancer Survivors Society in supporting and amplifying these essential voices. The workshop not only addressed pressing healthcare issues but also emphasized the need for comprehensive, empathetic strategies to tackle non-communicable diseases in Nepal.
Such initiatives are vital in driving positive change and ensuring that healthcare narratives truly reflect the needs of those they aim to serve.
